Hurricane Relief Fundraiser for Employee's Family

In the beginning of October 2016, our headquarters in Florida as well as many surrounding islands prepared for the worst as Hurricane Matthew made its presence known. Florida received nothing worse than high winds and down trees and electricity, but the same could not be said for Haiti. Hurricane Matthew made landfall on Haiti with 145 mph winds and violent sea surges which left Haiti’s coastal cities in ruins and more than 60,000 displaced and 300 dead. The aftermath in Haiti hit home when we learned that one of our employee's parents lived there. In the days following the hurricane, Team HSS created a relief fundraiser to gather donations. After 2 weeks we were able to mail a check for $1,500 to his family in Haiti. We're told that this money will be put towards purchasing food and clean drinking water which are both high in demand and low in supply.
