Human Resources

A human resources professional operates as a trusted liaison between employees and management. This role involves strategic planning, training, coaching, counseling and a variety of people-oriented skills. A desirable candidate possesses all of these traits and a desire to help others.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree typically required. Master’s Degree a plus
  • PHR/CHHR or other applicable certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years prior work experience in the field
  • Knowledge of healthcare staffing needs and the health field environment
  • Service-oriented
  • Analytical skills
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • Above average negotiation skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with HR software and technology preferred
  • Professional flexibility and adaptability
  • Self-starter with strong motivational skills
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable local, state and federal employment laws
  • Advanced knowledge of employee relations, compensation practices, performance management, diversity best practices
  • Record of success in the field with demonstrative and measurable accomplishments is a bonus
  • Legal status to work in the U.S. required

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with a team of HR professionals to enhance employee satisfaction and productivity
  • Provide recruitment and hiring practices guidance to ensure adherence to the laws and best practices
  • Provide HR guidance, support and process knowledge to supervisors and employees
  • Day-to-day performance management guidance to management — to include counseling, training, coaching, career development and disciplinary actions
  • Assist management with morale and team building, employee retention efforts, and strategies to enhance productivity
  • Help build positive relationships between management and staff
  • Promote beneficial employee relations
  • Assume the role of a trusted advisor
  • Apply a solutions-oriented method to conflict resolutions and problem solving
  • Mediate employee disputes
  • Address disciplinary issues
  • May need to supervise support staff
