Medical Sales

A medical sales representative is a critical component of any pharmaceutical or medical device company. He or she is responsible for making connections between the company and medical professionals at hospitals, clinics, and private practices. A successful medical sales representative will be able to develop business relationships with healthcare providers in order to sell a variety of products. A person desiring this position should have excellent communication skills, self-motivation, a positive attitude, and strong work ethic.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sell medical products like pharmaceuticals or medical devices
  • Meet sales targets set by company
  • Follow up with customers to make sure they are satisfied with products
  • Market products
  • Maintain frequent contact with customers through emails, phone calls, text messages
  • Compile feedback on products
  • Keep sales and distribution records
  • Stay on top of new developments in the field
  • Research new leads/network with potential clients
  • Hold information seminars on products

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. preferred)
  • CSP or NAMSR certifications preferred
  • Experience in sales, marketing, customer service
  • Driver’s license and vehicle
  • Strong communication and persuasion skills
